Simantikos Youth Company

Auditions
The Simantikos Youth Company is a unique opportunity for dedicated young dancers to experience the process of creating and rehearsing work in a company setting. Designed for dancers ready to deepen their training, this program fosters professionalism, accountability, and artistic growth through performance, choreography, and collaboration.
Commitment Overview:
-
Weekly Rehearsals: Mondays from 5:00–6:30 PM
Company dancers also take a required technique class from 6:30 - 7:30 PM directly after rehearsal with our professional company. -
Fall Season: The first company piece will be choreographed by the Youth Company Director and rehearsed from August 25 through the end of September.
-
Winter Season: A guest choreographer will set a second piece in the fall; the director will oversee weekly rehearsals leading into the Winter Showcase.
-
Spring Season: Dancers will work with both the director and another guest choreographer to prepare two final pieces—one presented at the Simantikos Spring Fundraiser, and the other at the Spring Performance.
This program is ideal for dancers looking to strengthen their movement quality, develop their own artistic voice, and gain experience in picking up and retaining choreography efficiently. Dancers will build ensemble skills, deepen their understanding of performance dynamics, and work toward shared goals as a team.
